Mind attaches to its own karma (action) ceaselessly, until it becomes aware of itself (aware of the intrinsic nature of awareness), and makes its way out of its own self-imposed traps of unaware attachment to itself.
This is effected through education, and the practical-use of dharma understanding and action of mind (e.g. putting the 6 Paramitas into practice), to bring about transformation of mind on the inner level, in conventional reality.
Mind requires training on the relative level. This involves becoming aware of, and actively applying to, the antidote to self-clinging that arises in the mind, that grasped to, produces the delusion of duality.
The path of dharma enables the awareness of mind nature, to break free from its own self clinging shackles to those mind states, and instead journey to the other shore – recognition and realisation of awareness nature, beyond self’s grasping to its own endless fabrications.

Life moves ever inexorably on…
What is important then?
(as all phenomena are impermanent, transient in nature…)
In the understanding of dharma practice, it is…
How you go. (In other words, the practice of awareness of mind as you go).
In the Buddha Dharma, humans that awaken to the true nature of reality – are referred to as Buddhas, which means just that- (awakened to the true nature of reality, of all phenomena of self and other).
Humans that are not yet awakened to the true nature of reality are beings wandering in cyclic existence- in the six realms of samsara (or mind states).
~
The biggest problem humans that are not awakened to the true nature of their own awareness- experience, is just that (not recognising) – and
in place of this, simply following in the habitual delusions of attachment to a self, (that is by nature transient and lacks any inherent existence of its own). All phenomena of self and other are in the nature of dependent origination. (In other words, nothing exists independent of other factors, – the projection of the delusion of independence of other factors is ego-self).
Dharma teachings
Introduction and practice of the path of dharma is for the purpose,
that mind awakens out of simply attaching to its own fabrications (these narratives/ or sitcoms) as if they are real- and in so doing missing the most priceless opportunity, that a precious human rebirth affords – to become free of attachment to our own delusions of mind…
become liberated of our own self-clinging to a self, (which has no inherent basis); existing only by way of label, or mere imputation).
The mental body continues as cause, effect and conditions relationships ceaselessly, until it awakens to its own nature of awareness.
~
Through unaware habituation, and karma action, the consciousness (as mental body, as attachment to the belief in a self), looks for and takes a body.
When this is a physical body of a human or animal – the lifespan is until the merit for that life is exhausted. When the consciousness leaves the guest house, the body is reduced to a lifeless corpse or carcass.
Inner Aware Spiritual Practice
Spiritual practice enables us to go on a path- a journey beyond ego- pumping (reification), attachment to self, overstimulation of mind, and delusion.
~
The purpose of inner practice is to allow the mind to settle and rest, and become aware of its own intrinsic awareness nature and realise the true reality of that awareness, (of true reality).
~
In very simple, (basic terms)- this is effected in two ways, through:
Renunciation of attaching to the delusion of a merely imputed self & story (and continual reification of that, through attaching to various thoughts and emotions etc), and
Refuge in the true understanding of the emptiness, or selfless of all phenomena of self and other.
The practices involve: awareness recognition of mind itself- to purify the mind of its own self-clinging attachments of mind – so that the true nature of phenomena is directly experienced (revealed) and the root of mind (self-clinging to samsara or mind states) cut. In other words, the path of inner awareness recognition practiced.
(to be continued…)
In brief
Ego-self-clinging is pre-occupied throughout the life with the body, that goes to the crematorium or graveyard.
Dharma practice is concerned with helping beings liberate their minds from such attachment, and instead recognise the true nature of their awareness which transcends samsara (cyclic existence)/ self-clinging to dualistic, (deluded) states of mind.
