The Power of the Buddhas

OM MUNI MUNI MAHAMUNI SHAKYAMUNIYE SVAHA 🌷’If someone with a confused and distracted mind should take even a single flower and offer it to a painted image [of Buddha], in time he [she] would come to see countless Buddhas…. The presently existing Buddhas of the ten directions, to whom heavenly and human beings make offering, who in number are like the grains of sand in the Ganges, they have appeared in the world in order to bring peace and comfort to living beings, and they too [teach] the Dharma in this way.’

(Shakyamuni Buddha quote from the Saddharmapundarika or the Lotus Sutra of the Wonderful Dharma )

Dharma practice has the power to antidote samsara, (the six realms of cyclic existence or mind states arising from attachment to self-clinging and afflictions of mind) in the mind stream (or mental continuum); but only as far as we come to rely and trust in it through understanding and practical use. Observing closely through applied mindfulness/ meditation practices for example- the power of awareness to transform the mind and liberate the causes of suffering. Through repeated familiarity with inner awareness habituation practice, recognition and direct experience of reality- realisation of the true nature of phenomena of self and other in our own consciousness awareness.
